I received my Doctorate in Human Sexuality from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in 1987. I am board-certified by the American College of Sexologists, a Diplomat of the American Board of Sexology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists.
I am past President of the Northern California Chapter of the Society for the Scientific Study of Sexuality (1992), a professional organization. From 1987 to 1995, I taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in human sexuality at the University of San Francisco, San Francisco State University, San Jose State University and the Dominican University of California. I have also made numerous professional presentations to various hospitals, professional societies, universities, churches and community service organizations.
In addition, I wrote a Q & A style column related to sexuality and relationships, “SexSense,” which appeared in print for four years. I have been interviewed by various newspapers, magazines, radio and television networks.
